Yeni Albümü ile The Old Ramblers
The Old Ramblers, ismiyle de yaptığı albümle de özel bir grup. Açıkçası daha önce bu gruptan haberdar değildim. Vokal, gitar ve çeşitli enstrümanlarda Sarp Keskiner, armonikada Orhun Keskinbıçak ve akustik gitar ve bazı parçalardaki vokallerde de Türker Özer’den kurulu bir grup. Türkiye’de daha önce kaydı yapılmamış klasik sayılabilecek blues parçalarını yorumlamış. Aslında bu şaşırtıcı bir girişim. Çünkü zaten hayli kısıtlı bir dinleyici kitlesi bulunan blues’un, daha da az dinlenen tarzlarından parçaları özenle seçip bunları bir albüm olarak dinleyicilerin beğenisine sunmak gerçekten dikkate değer bir değer bilirlik ve özel bir yaklaşım. Bu bakımdan grubu cesur ve samimi buldum. Albümü baştan sona birkaç kez dinledim ve samimiyetle söyleyebilirim ki çok beğendim. Genellikle II. Dünya Savaşı öncesi (pre-War) parçaların yorumlandığını ve bunda da şaşırtıcı düzeyde başarılı olunduğunu gördüm. Sarp Keskiner’in vokalde ve çeşitli enstrümanlarda üstlendiği görevin yanı sıra prodüktörlük koltuğunda da çok titiz davrandığını ve imzasını attığını görebiliyoruz. Dear Friends, Until the pandemic hit, it never occurred to me to listen to the practice audio cassette tapes made at my kitchen table in Connemara, Ireland, forty or more years ago. But then, again, I never imagined I’d be in a lockdown for months with endless time to fill either. All this free time on my hands has led to much reading and writing and the opening of boxes and files long ago stored away and forgotten. One such box I opened contained dozens of homemade audio tapes that I’d accumulated over the years, some of the tapes titled, some not.
